Facial Peels

Rejuvenating Winter Skin with a Facial Peel

Facial Peels are an efficient and fast way to refresh and rejuvenate your skin and will assist in treating common skin conditions.

From the moment you step out of our clinic after your facial peel, your skin will begin to rejuvenate itself to reveal a new YOU!

And, over the coming days, once the skin settles down, the texture and tone of your skin will be noticeably smoother and softer, with an increase in the skin’s natural moisture giving you the plump glow of hydrated, healthy skin.

How does a facial peel work?

As the skin ages, the turnover of skin cells slows down. Young, healthy skin cells will replicate themselves every 28 days. However, as time goes by, cell turnover slows down, and cell renewal can take up to 45 days or more.

Slow cellular turnover leads to dry, dull and sluggish skin that’s not performing at its best.

Facial peels gently exfoliate dead cells from the surface of your skin, and as they do this, cell turnover at the basal layer is activated, triggering new cell replication and growth.

When done consistently, the benefits of a facial peel go beyond improved cellular turnover.

The skin begins to behave more youthfully as growth hormones swing into action to stimulate new collagen and deactivate the enzymes that cause collagenase, which, over time, breaks down your natural collagen.

The result of regular facial peels is much healthier skin with robust collagen providing your skin with its strength and resilience and less visible lines and wrinkles.

Individually we all have particular skin concerns that worry us.

Facial peels can assist in the treatment of a variety of skin conditions, including hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, sun damage, lines and wrinkles caused by premature ageing and dehydration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

What home care should I use before and after my Facial Peel?

If you’ve decided you’d like a facial peel, we’ll advise you on the best facial peel to treat your specific skin concerns and inform you of all pre and post home care before and after your facial peel.

Will your skin peel?

Firstly, don’t let the word ‘peel’ put you off, not all peels activate skin shedding, and we’ll guide you on what to expect and the necessary precautions and homecare you’ll need to comply with after your facial peel. However, some peels do activate shedding, and we’ll prepare you for those outcomes before your treatment.

Is there any downtime?

We have 9 peels we can choose from, and depending on the type of peel and the concentration, there can be some social downtime.

Most facial peels will leave the skin a little pink in colour immediately after the treatment and should only last a few hours. If redness persists, always get back in touch with us.

Our Deep Sea Peel leaves the skin tender to the touch for 24 hours, with shedding commencing on day three.

Other peels, such as our Timeless Peel and Salicylic Acid Peel, will leave the skin pink with shedding expected by day three, lasting for up to seven days.

Are the facial peels painful?

Some of our facial peels can feel a little uncomfortable while on the skin ranging from mild tingling to an increasing warm feeling to the skin. During your consultation, we’ll advise you on the level of discomfort and what you can expect on the days after your treatment.

Should you wear sun protection after your facial peel?

No matter what time of year you have your facial peel, you’ll need to be diligent in protecting your skin from the sun. We recommend Synergie Skin Uber Zinc for all year round broadspectrum protection.
